Currently living and volunteering in Ireland for a great organization that works with children and young people affected by global conflict through means such as Therapeutic Recreation and Intercultural Communication.
When talking about war or peace much of what is said remains only that, words that sound right and could change a moment, but really just end up on a magnet or forgotten. Before there is no one left to bleed (or worse, no one left to hear) maybe what people like those in The Community are doing will inspire others to act. No matter what our struggle, it is our responsibility to demand more of ourselves and attach to something larger. Nothing will ever be achieved by coercion, but through understanding and the refusal of indifference. |
